Champa Devi is a popular and one of the best one day hiking destinations, which lies in the southeastern corner of the Kathmandu valley in Kirtipur (an ancient city if Kathmandu). Standing at the elevation of 2278 meters, the hill is the third-highest hill enriching the Kathmandu Valley. Champa Devi Hiking Tour is an easy and enjoyable walking trip to the hill with pristine atmosphere, exotic spirituality, diverse nature and culture as well as religious harmony. The track is well developed which goes through lush green pine forests. The top of the hill offers you the best view of Kathmandu valley along with magnificent views of Himalayan ranges including Mount Ganesh, Langtang Lirung, Annapurna, Gaurishankar and Mount Everest. Sacred Bagmati River, Dakshinkali Temple, villages of Bungmati and Khokana can also be viewed from here. Moreover, Champa Devi is the perfect one-day hiking destination to gain freshness from hustling and bustling busy side of the city.
Kathmandu
Driving Duration: 50 minutes
Hiking Duration: 5-6 hours
Your guide will pick you up at the designated departure spot and you will be driven to Hattiban resort. After a short break at the resort, you will start your hike towards Champa Devi. After three hours of hiking, you will reach the summit which offers you a panoramic view of the Kathmandu valley as well as some ranges. You may encounter different species of flora, faunas and birds on the hillside.
After spending ample amount of time in the hilltop, you will pay a visit to a famous and beautiful Buddhist monastery and descend back to Hattiban Resort. From there you will embark your journey back to the valley. If time permits, you will visit Taudaha Lake which lies en route to the valley.
