Chitlang – a small, clean, and green village – located in the south of Kathmandu is one of the historic towns of nearby Kathmandu. Ancient trade/travel route between Nepal and India passes through this small lush green village, Chitlang, and found inscription that the settlement was established in early Seventh century by Lichchavi king Amshubarma for shepherds.

From this point the trail is steep uphill to Chandragiri – a hilltop where Cable Car service has started now and offers one of the grandest views of the Himalayas ranging from Annapurna massif in the west to the Everest in the east.
