Chitlang is an ancient village located in Thaha, 27km southwest of the Kathmandu valley. Situated at the elevation of 1833m, Chitlang village is undoubtedly rich in culture and natural heritage. The village itself is a unique destination filled with huge ethnic diversity as it is the home of Newars, Tamang, Gurung, Magar, and Khas population. This short tour of this amazing village offers you to experience the culture, customs, and lifestyle of these people. The village is incredibly beautiful, surrounded by glorious nature and wildlife with 160 species of birds and animals. The popular attractions of Chitlang include Ashika Chaitya, Swachchhanda Vairav Temple, Sat-Dhara, organic village resort, and goat cheese factory. Driving Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Early morning, you will meet your guide and vehicle at the designated place and you will commence your drive to Thankot. Your hiking trip begins form Panighat in Thankot. You will walk down hill through the dense forest with amazing scenery and cool air breeze. Following the gravel road, you will reach this beautiful village of Chitlang. The garden of juicy organic Naspati (pear) can be viewed here and you can try some of them out. After lunch in the village, you will visit to some of the places here including Bicharithok community forest and religious site of Hindu namely, Satdhara. You will also have a short walk inside the traditional village of Newars.

Early morning breakfast, and you will explore the village in fullest. You will visit the local cheese factory, local schools, and various shrines and temples in the area. Further, you will trek downhill to Kulekhani Dam, a famous lake for the hydro-project in Nepal. After spending an ample amount of time here, you will get on board the vehicle that will take you back to Kathmandu.
