Saga, Pauanuti and Dhulikhel Tour is an amazing full day tour to the ancient towns located at the outskirts of the Kathmandu valley. The tour begins with an exciting drive to Saga followed by Panauti and later by Dhulikhel. Saga is 20 km away from Kathmandu located the border of Bhaktapur and Kavrepalanchowk district. The prime attraction of this area is the statue of a Hindu deity, which is the world’s tallest Shiva statue. 144 foot high statue of Kailashnath Mahadev is made using copper, zinc, concrete and steel and it is recorded as the world’s fortieth tallest statue.
Panauti is a historical city situated 32km southeast of the capital at the confluence of sacred Rosi and Punyamati Rivers. Considered as one of the towns in Nepal, Panauti houses many temples which are still present that date back to the 15th century or earlier. The Indreshwar Temple, built in 1294 is the oldest surviving temple of Nepal which is now well maintained and managed by the Panauti Museum. Culture, tradition and hospitality of the locals are so admirable here.
Dhulikhel, 30 km southeast of Kathmandu valley, is an ancient small hill town renowned for mountain viewpoint and hiking destinations around the capital. It has been an important trading center/ commercial route between Nepal and Tibet for centuries. Ancient Newari craftsmanship can be observed closely by visiting the temples there and old traditional Newari houses. Panoramic view of peaks, including Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Gaurishankar, Lhotse and many others along with cultural and religious sites like Bahgwati, Kalidevi and Gita Mandir are the major attractions of this beautiful town.
Kathmandu
9:30 am: You will be driven to Saga via Bhaktapur drive pass. Upon arrival you will start your sightseeing around Saga, where you will be amazed by the statue of Kailashnath Mahadev, the fortieth tallest statue in the world.
12:00 pm: You will drive to Panauti after completing sightseeing in Saga. You will stop for a brief at Banepa, a historical town around the valley which is situated at the elevation 4800ft., and pay a visit to Banepa Chandeshwori Temple. You will continue your drive and halt at Panauti. Panauti has been known as an important religious site since old day, situated at the junction of the Rosi and Panyamati Rivers.
14:00 pm: Lastly, you will drive to Dhulikhel, an ancient tiny hill with well-preserved Newari town. Dhulikhel is as a famous mountain viewpoint and a popular hiking destination. You will pay a visit to the famous and important Hindu Pilgrimage Site, Kali Temple and stroll around the town and experience their culture and lifestyle.
16:00 pm: You will be driven back to Kathmandu valley via private vehicle.
