Tourism in Nepal started after Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary were first successful people to ascent Mount Everest on 29th May 1953. However, foreigners were welcomed by the Government of Nepal by providing tourist visas after democracy came in 1995. Since then, Nepal has been the center of attraction for its glorious Himalayas and diverse landscapes. Blessed with more than 1300 Himalayas, the highest peak of the world Mount Everest (8848 m) along with seven out of fourteen eight-thousanders lie here in Nepal. Aside from trekking, travelers, explorers, and travel enthusiasts are recommended to explore the landmarks and structures carrying some religious importance. Home of more than 28 million Nepalese, different religions is followed here with the Hindu majority. Buddhism is also followed by a huge population.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Day

Our Airport Representative will greet you at Tribhuwan International Airport and transfer you to your respective hotels. Your trip guide will briefly give information about your trip in the evening.

Day 02: Kathmandu City Sightseeing

The tour begins today after your breakfast in the hotel. You will be visiting three world heritage sites today. And they are:

Pashupatinath Temple, the most important Hindu Pilgrimage is a temple constructed in the 17th century and has been unchanged since then. Non-Hindu visitors are unacceptable in the main temple but can observe the scenes from across the river. 

Boudhanath Stupa is your next stop. The stupa is one of the biggest stupas in South Asia and was built in the 5th century which reflects Tibetan Buddhism. Many small gompas and monasteries are also built-in Tibetan style. The area is an authentic place to purchase Tibetan Stuffs. 

Bhaktapur Durbar Square is one of the 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Nepal famous for its unique handicrafts, medieval era temples, and structures. The area is also covered with great varieties of unique handmade designs.

Day 03: Drive to Janakpur

Driving duration: 11 hours 30 minutes

Early morning, you will head towards Janakpur. It is a famous place for religious and historical importance which is also the birthplace of goddess Sita. Once you are there, you will take rest and go for sightseeing. Mainly religious people/Hindus come here because it is a religious place and is famous for its temples and ponds.

Day 04: Morning pooja & drive to Chitwan

Driving duration: 5 hrs 30 minutes

Early morning, you will perform Pooja at Janaki Mandir. You will take breakfast back in the hotel and head towards Chitwan National Park. Royal Chitwan National Park is the oldest national park in Nepal which was established in 1973 which is famous for its wildlife viewing.

Day 05: Exploration Day

You will have a full day of exploration inside the national park performing various activities. If the day is lucky one, you will get to witness the wildlife animals like one-horned rhino, Bengal tiger, leopards, and different species of birds during your jungle walks, canoe, or boat ride, or elephant riding. After a long and exciting day, you will go for a cultural program where one of the ethnic groups of Nepal called Tharus will perform some cultural dances, music, and acts.

Day 06: Drive to Lumbini

Driving Duration: 6 hours 

Bird watching will be your first activity today. It is said that if you start birdwatching, you will start to pay attention to nature. After getting closer to nature you will have breakfast and proceed towards Lumbini. Once you arrive at Lumbini, you will check-in and take rest for today.

Day 07: Lumbini excursion

Lumbini is one of the World Heritage Sites with numerous monasteries built by different nations. You will pay a visit to main attractions such as Mayadevi Temple, Ashoka Pillar, Myanmar monastery, and the Lumbini museum today. If time permits, you will visit other monasteries and Tilaurakot Palace, where Lord Buddha had spent his first 29 years of his life as a Prince.

Day 08: Drive to Pokhara via Palpa Durbar

Driving Duration: 7-8 hours 

After breakfast, you will leave Lumbini behind and drive towards your today’s destination, Pokhara through Siddhartha Highway. 1.5 hours of non-stop drive and you will stop at Palpa for Tansen Durbar visit which was built in 1927 by Pratap Samsher Jung Bahadur Rana where you can see fine Newari craftsmanship. Later, you will proceed with your journey to Pokhara.

Day 09: Sunrise in Sarangkot, Pokhara sightseeing

Driving Duration: 30 minutes

Very early in the morning, you will drive for 30 minutes to reach Sarangkot, where you will observe stunning sunrise. Sarangkot is a famous viewpoint for sunrise and sunset along with a panoramic view of Annapurna IV (7,525m), Annapurna III (7,555m), Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Machhapuchhre (6993m). After breakfast in your hotel, you will proceed to explore the Gorkha Museum where mountains, it’s people and the environment are displayed. You will also visit some of the famous spots like Devis falls, Mahendra Cave, and Shanti Stupa (Peace Pagoda).

Day 10: Visit Tibetan Refugee Camp, Fewa lake boating

Tibetan Refugee Camps are also popular attractions in Pokhara. Thousands of Tibetan refugees have been living in Pokhara since the mid-1960s. Visiting the Tibetan Refugee Camps will give you more knowledge about Tibetan Refugees in Nepal. At noon, you will go for boating in Fewa Lake, the second largest lake in Nepal.

Day 11: Drive to Kathmandu

Driving Duration: 6 hours 

You will leave Pokhara and head towards Kathmandu after breakfast. The drive through Prithvi highway is very scenic including the fabulous view of different villages, landscapes, and rivers. In Kathmandu, you will check-in, and in the evening, you can go for a walk inside Thamel.

Day 12: Mountain Flight, Swoyambhu & Kathmandu love tour

Mountain flight is the first activity of today’s schedule. One hour of Mountain flight also known as Himalayan Darshan let you witness Mount Everest (8848 m), Mount Langtang Lirung (7234m), Mount Gauri Shanker (7134 m), Ganesh Himal(7429m), Shisha Pangma (8013m), Gyachangkang (7952 m), Pumori (7161m), Nuptse (7855m), Lhotse (8516 m), Ama Dablam (6812m), Chamlang (7319m), Makalu (8463 m), Cho Oyu (8201m) and Kanchenjunga (8586m). 

Later you will visit Swoyambhunath Stupa. Popular as “Monkey temple” among tourists, Swoyambhunath Stupa is indeed a great and famous attraction of the valley. The stupa is one of the ancient stupas of the valley where the worshippers are diverse from Newar nuns, Tibetan monks to Brahmin priests. Situated at the top of the hill, it offers you an incredible view of the valley. Later you will be walking through the oldest and busiest markets like Ason, Indrachok, and Newroad. You will be appreciating the art and architecture once you reach Kathmandu Durbar Square. Visiting the temple of Living Goddess “Kumari” will be a unique experience for you. 

You can go to the markets for shopping and pick your favorite stuff as souvenir. You will have a farewell dinner with your guide before bed.

Day 13: Departure Day

You will be transferred to the airport for your onward destination as per your flight schedule.
