Kali Gandaki River rafting is one of the superb short rafting trips in Nepal’s Himalayan white water. Originates in Tibetan side of the Himalayas and follows down from Muktinath area of Nepal – the most famous pilgrimage site for Hindus where Vishnu is worshipped as the God of Salvation – passes through the deepest George of the World made by Annapurna massif and Dhaulagiri mountain.
This Class III+/IV river is known as the “best all-round river in Nepal”. This three days action in the river has some 55 Kms stretch you raft. You drive approximately 4 hours from Pokhara after breakfast to Beni – rafting put-in-point. The drive is one of the most scenic drive in the Nepal’s hilly region with the view of the magnificent Annapurna range, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri and others. Moreover, the highway is typical snake-bend through forests, villages, and farms. Once you reach Beni, get instruction from your Guide about the safety, and rafting rules and immerse into the water for action. You immediate come across beautiful rapids namely ‘small brother’ and ‘big brother’ of classic rapids of class IV.
Arrive Modi Khola confluence where you spend night in the camp.
Breakfast in the camp prepared by our crew. You then start your day of action in the river that challenges you with continuous rapids of class III and class IV intermittently. As the morning call, you tackle the rapid like ‘Good Morning’, and later class IV rapid like ‘Abundant’ etc. View of the Himalayas including Annapurna and Himchuli is breathtaking as well as of villages, and landscapes. You raft through the jungle corridor and raft pass waterfalls. Overnight camp in the Purti Ghat.
With delicious breakfast you start the day. You raft down to the village of Seti Beni – the holy site for Hindus. Soon after you hit some rapids around this confluence, river calms down, valley widens, and surrounding hills dwarfs offering enchanting scenery.
After lunch in the river beach, this marvelous three-day river trip come to an end. You drive back to Pokhara and overnight stay in the Hotel.
You will drive back to Kathmandu. Or any other destination you want to combine with this rafting trip. Annapurna Trekking or Chitwan National Park or Lumbini are some destinations you can add on with this rafting trip.
