Tour Details

Marsyandi is a literal translation of ‘raging river’ in local language. Rafting in the whitewater of Marsyangdi is one of the most exciting short whitewater adventures in Nepal. Draining off from the Northern slopes of the Annapurna, Marsyandi flows east through the valley of Manang and joins the Trishuli at Mugling. The river is considered as one of the steepest rivers in Nepal, recommended for experts rafters and kayakers as it has more continuous stretch of rapids.

Marsyangdi River is an ideal destination for those who are seeking for an intense and extreme rafting and kayaking trip with a continuous grade IV and V rapids. It is also the photographer’s sculpture boulders, as the scenery is magnificent including exhilarating whitewater, lush green valleys, and magnificent views of some of the highest mountains.

Itinerary

Day 01:Kathmandu – Nagdi

Driving Duration: 6 hours

The Marsyangdi Rafting begins with a drive from Kathmandu valley to Nagdi in Lamjung district. You will drive about 172 kilometers via Prithivi Highway along beautiful scenery including magnificent Himalayas, lush hills, valleys, small villages and rivers en route. Once you reach the put-in point, Nagdi, you will be given some briefing and information about the expedition by your instructor. Today, you will encounter many rapids like Instant Karma, Twinkie, Adrenaline, and Mama’s Big Butt. After the thrilling and exciting rafting experience, you will halt the activity on the river banks of Khudi, where the camp for an overnight will be set up.

Day 02: Raft to Dam

After early morning breakfast, you will get into the water to experience some bumpier rides. As you flow down, the Marsyangdi River grows bigger and bigger, surrounded by lush green forest and your boat crashes through canyons. You will halt on a sandy beach for a lunch and continue the adventure on the rushing waters of the river. You will raft down until you reach Middle Marsyangdi Hydro Dam and set a camp on a beautiful and tranquil sany beach.

Day 03:Raft to Paundi - Turture

Today, you will be transferred to Paundi which is located beyond the Dam. The next put-in point, Paundi is reached by walking and everything has to be carried down. As you resume your rafting journey from Paundi, you will be encountering some Class III rapids. The expedition will be halted at Turture village.

Day 04:Raft to Bimal Nagar

Today is an optional day. You can return back to Kathmandu or any other destination from Turture. However, the journey from Turture to Bimal Nagar is easy but exiting. The rafting journey today is full of scenery with no rapids to tackle.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Lunch

Day 05:Drive to Kathmandu

Driving Duration: 4.5 hours

The rafting journey comes to an end, and you will be driving back to Kathmandu or your next destination from Bimal Nagar.
