Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Day

Our Airport Representative will greet you at Tribhuwan International Airport and transfer you to your respective hotels. After check-in and some rest, you will be taken to the main touristic hub in the city for a short introduction tour. Your trip guide will briefly give information about your trip in the evening.

Overnight at the hotel. 

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing

Today, after breakfast, you will go sightseeing in some of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu valley. You will visit Pashupatinath Temple, the most important Hindu Pilgrimage is a temple constructed in the 17th century and has been unchanged since then. Non-Hindu visitors are unacceptable in the main temple but can observe the scenes from across the river. Boudhanath Stupa is your next stop. The stupa is one of the biggest stupas in South Asia and was built in the 5th century which reflects Tibetan Buddhism. Many small gompas and monasteries are also built-in Tibetan style. Lastly, you will pay a visit to Swayambhunath Stupa also known as “monkey temple” from where you can get a panoramic vista of the valley. It is one of the sacred pilgrimage sites for Buddhist and Hindu devotees.

Day 03: Bhaktapur Sightseeing and Visa preparation

After breakfast, you will move to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, originally built in 1696 A.D and reconstructed in the 17th/18th century which you can observe today. 55 window palace, Vastala temple, Nyatapol Temple, and Lion’s gate are the major attractions of this area. The rest of the day will pass by preparing the Tibet visa and trip details.

Day 04: Ride Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1140m)

Ride Duration: 7-8 hrs

Ride Distance: 125 km 

Early morning breakfast and you will start your journey on your motorbike via Nuwakot and Dhunche. The road condition makes the journey little longer through remote areas in Langtang National Park. However, once you reach Rasuwagadhi, it will be little easier and you will drive until you reach Syabrubesi for your overnight.

Day 04: Ride to Kerung (2750m)

Ride Duration: 3 hrs

Ride distance: 42 km 

Today you will take your breakfast in Saybrubesi and ride to Nepal and Tibet border. After completion of border formalities at the border, you will further ride until you arrive at Kerung. You will spend the rest of the day exploring Kerung local markets and streets.

Day 05: Ride to Tingri (4300m)

Ride Duration: 5 hrs

Ride distance: 244 km 

Today, you will take your motorbike uphill to the highest plateau of the world after breakfast. You will get that amazing feeling once you stand in the roof of the world with an astonishing view of the vast Tibetan landscape and a breathtaking panoramic vista of the ranges like Mount Cho Oyu (8201m) and Mount Xishapangma (8012m). You will reach Tingri by late afternoon and relish the view of magnificent Mount Everest (8848m).

Day 06: Ride to Ronbuk (4980m), EBC halt, Ride to Xegar (3900m)

Ride Duration: 7 hrs

Ride Distance: 185 km 

Take breakfast and prepare yourself to ride towards Ronbuk. Riding through beautiful Tibetan villages, you will reach Ronbuk where you will explore the highest elevation monastery in the world, Ronbuk monastery along the close up view of Everest. After spending some time in Everest Base Camp (EBC), you will further ride until you reach Xegar for overnight.

Day 07: Ride to Shigatse (3900m)

Ride Duration: 4-5 hrs

Ride Distance: 244 km 

Today is one eventful day as you will be riding to Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet passing through the passes located at the elevation over 5200 meters. Upon arrival in Shigatse, you will check-In at the hotel and take rest. You will explore the streets in the evening.

Day 08: Ride to Gyantse (3950m)

Ride Duration: 3 hrs

Ride Distance: 95 km 

After morning breakfast, you will pay visit to Tashihumpu Monastery of Panchen Lama. The monastery is the major attraction here and one of the largest functioning monasteries in Tibet. You will leave behind Shigatse and ride to Gyantse where you will get the opportunity to explore Phalkor Monastery, Kumbum Stupa and local market.

Day 09: Ride to Lhasa (3650m)

Ride Duration: 7-8 hrs

Ride Distance: 261 km 

The journey you are taking today is full of picturesque scenery as you will be riding to Lhasa via Karola (5010m), Kambala (4749m), lively Yamdrok-Tso Lake and the Tibetan lifeline river, Brahma Putra.

Day 10: Sightseeing in Lhasa

Today you will be visiting to some of the top attractions in Lhasa city.  You will firstly visit to one of the famous monasteries in Lhasa, Sera Monastery which is popular for an amazing “Buddhism Debating” and also called monastery of wild roses. Norbulingka Monastery will be your next destination. The monastery was a former summer palace of Dalai Lama with 374 rooms in the ancient period which is now turned into a public park called “Jeweled Park”. Giving continuation to your exploration, Jokhang Temple will be your today’s last visiting place. Jokhang Temple is one of the sacred shrines in Lhasa for Tibetan Buddhism which is also known as House of Buddha. You will also stroll around Barkor Street which encircles Jokhang temple and famous for traditional Tibetan goods, religions items and handicrafts.

Day 11: Sightseeing in Lhasa

Right after your breakfast, you will start your exploration activity from Potala Palace; the home to the successive Dalai Lama as well as impressive masterpiece of architecture. The palace is known to be in existence since the 4th/5th century but the current form of the palace is said to be founded in 17th century. The next sightseeing spot is Drepung Monastery which was established in the 14th century. Since establishment, the monastery has always been one of the most important Buddhist monasteries in Tibet with more than 10,000 monks living and studying in its glory days. Some of the well known and important Tibetan leaders including Dalai Lama used to study here. The monastery is also called “Mother School of Dalai Lamas” and panoramic vista of Lhasa can be observed from here.

Day 12: Fly to Kathmandu from Lhasa

Flight Duration: 1 hour 35 minutes

Your motorbike tour to Tibet finally ends today. After breakfast at the hotel in Lhasa for the last time, you will be transferred to the airport for the flight back to Kathmandu. You will be greeted by our Nepalese representative in airport after your arrival. You will be escorted to your respective hotel. Spend the rest of the day walking in the streets of Kathmandu valley.
