The Rara Lake Jeep Tour is a week long journey to the remote countryside of Mugu district in the western part of Nepal. This trip offers you the rustic beauty of the lake and it is a fantastic destination for the photography tour. Beyond the bustling of human and motor engines, the tour takes you to a different setting of nature with evergreen forest, the Lake, and the Himalayas with a pristine environment. The destination, Rara Lake is rich in biodiversity, due to which it was declared as Ramsar Wetland Site. Rara Lake, which lies at the elevation of 2900m, is a stunning deep lake surrounded by the dazzling snowy peaks providing relaxation on the nerves. Rara National Park is the smallest yet most scenic national park with more than 500 species of flowers, herbs, and butterflies.

Kathmandu
Driving Duration: 12 hours
The first day of this journey will be long and tiring. Early morning you will be driving to Kohalpur which is more than 500km far from Kathmandu valley. Riding alongside beautiful hills and terrains with the flowing of majestic Trishuli River, you will reach the destination by the evening with short tea and toilet breaks en route.

Driving Duration: 7-8 hours
Today you will be driving to the Headquarter of Kalikot district after breakfast. Riding via generally good and well-maintained road through the lush and densely forested area with many tiny settlements, you will reach Manma, a beautiful town situated between the massive hills offering incredible scenarios.

Walking Duration: 2-3 hours
Today’s journey will be easier as the drive will be shorter than past two days but you will be hiking to Rara Lake after a drive. You will start your drive early morning towards Nagma valley through the Sinja Valley. You will reach Nagma Valley which is 62 km away from Manma riding with beautiful scenario, different flora and domestic animals en route. Your off-road drive begins after you cross The Nagma Valley.
The journey from here is uphill via graveled road with Karnali River flowing right beside you. Leaving Talcha Airport, you will driver further for 30 minutes and reach the place where you will park your vehicle.
Hiking to Rara Lake is the final part of today’s journey. After half an hour of uphill climb, you will reach the point which offers a spectacular view of beautiful Rara Lake. After spending an ample amount of time there being impressed, you will hike downhill until you reach the guest house.

You will open your eyes with the chirping of the birds and wake up to compliment the morning at Rara. You will spend your blissful morning by listening to many birds singing, the woods whistling and the waves crashing along the banks.
The rest of the day will be spent by engaging yourself into various activities. You can experience boating as well as horse riding. You will also explore the trails taking you to mountainous forest. Hiking to Murma viewpoint which offers a glamorous view of Rara Lake is another option.

As the days pass by, the journey comes to end slowly. Early morning, you will walk to the point where your jeep is waiting for you and drive back to Manma following the same route as you came through.

After early breakfast, you will head towards Kohlapur following the same route as the one you came. After long and tiring drive, you will reach to Kohalpur by the evening. Upon arrival, you will check-in at the hotel and relax.

Your drive back to Kathmandu begins early in the morning. Leaving behind Kophalpur, you will drive via the same road of Day 1. As you reach Kathmandu in the evening, you will check-in at the hotel and spend the rest of the night there.
