Mountain Delights’ Seti River Rafting trip is one of the most rewarding short Himalayan white water experiences and good add-ons in the Nepal trip. This two days rafting trip begins from a bustling town, Damauli, along the Kathmandu-Pokhara highway. You raft through the beautiful forested canyon of the Mahabharat range characterized with high rise mid-hill mountains and reach near to the southern plain of Tarai.
Overnight camp in the sandy river beach in Sarang Ghat – located below the village inhabited by Magar community who are famous for their untiring service in the British Gurkhas – is another highlight of the trip. You put yourself on a challenge for two days in the calm, warm, and beautiful river’s 35 Kms stretch during your rafting trip. Basically gentle river yet has to offer some class III rapids. During the monsoon months of July-September, the intensity of the rapids and volume increases to attract different set of rafters.
Kathmandu
After breakfast in your hotel or place of residence, drive to Damauli – a bustling town located in the bank of Madi River which soon confluences with Seti Gandaki, and on the Kathmandu-Pokhara Highway. It is about four and a half hour drive from Kathmandu and two hours from Pokhara. You meet with our Guide, get safety and paddle instructions, prepare to take action and then start your day with magnificent view of the Himalayan peaks, landscape and calm water. It’s a leisure paddling. Enjoy the scenery, and various birds – if you are a bird lover. Encounter with small yet technical rapid near our camp – Sarang Ghat. Overnight stay in the camp.
You enjoy breakfast in the camp prepared by our crew in the early morning. You then start your amazing rafting day in Seti River. Encounter with few class III rapids as soon as you start the day. After a short while, you reach to the confluence of Trishuli River – another popular rafting river in Nepal. The river follows through deep forest canyon really reflects the wilderness in the Nepalese mountain thus the exhilarating rafting experiences.
Once you reach Trishuli river confluence, you continue in the Trishuli River for about twenty minutes – wider and bigger river.
Raft down to Gai Ghat – the put-out-point, from where you finish this invigorating two days rafting trip in the Seti River. And then drive to Kathmandu (four hours), or Chitwan National Park (one hour), or Pokhara (four hours). Overnight in the Hotel.
