Shivapuri Hill, second highest peak of Kathmandu valley rim with an altitude of 2,732 m/ 8,963 ft, is in the Shivapuri-Nagarjun National Park (159 Sq Km / 61 Sq Mi) located right in the outskirts of Kathmandu downtown. Shivapuri Hill now is a blessing for nature lover and hikers from both home and abroad. This hiking rewards with magnificent view of the Himalayas that includes Ganesh Himal Range, Langtang Range, Dorje Lakpa, Gaurishanker and so on. Moreover, the hike provides bird’s eye view of the Kathmandu valley; and origin of Bagmati River, revered as Holy River in Kathmandu which flows past Pashupatinath temple.
We, Mountain Delight Travels and Tours, organize Shivapuri Hill Day Hiking with our seasoned guide, luxury transport, and incomparable management. This hike start with driving of an hour to the Gumba, situated some 15 km north of Kathmandu. It is about 3-3.5 hours hike uphill, in the forest of Chir-pine, Rhododendron and other trees. From the hilltop return to the Gumba again and drive back to your residence.

Our Guide will pick you up at the Hotel/or place where you stay (Extra charge may occur if pick up point is out of range of our common service). And, drive to Nagi Gumba which is about an hour drive. We have to complete Park entrance formalities in the entrance gate and takes some time
Begin hiking from Nagi Gumba after visiting the Gumba and around to Shivapuri Hill on a uphill trail. Enjoy green landscapes, hills, fresh air and a nature walk.
It takes approximately 3-4 hours to reach to the top from where you can enjoy the view of the Majestic Himalayas. You will have pack lunch for the day that our Guide will have for you.
This national park is a paradise for bird watchers, which is home to some 177 species of birds including 9 endangered species, and offers sights of faunas out of 19 species of mammals and some rare species of butterflies. This area, with some historical and religious sites, has been vital watershed area that supply large amount of drinking water to the valley people.
Descend to Gumba and then drive back.
