When you wish for refreshing time to be spent nearby Kathmandu and a hike in the rural setting, this newly explored and opened short hiking/trekking destination is ideal for you. The hike begins in Kakani (2,073 m/6,801 ft), a scenic hill station developed in 1970’s as a premier tourist spot, hosts Scout’s training center, British Gurkha’s welfare Bunglow, and a memorial park dedicated to the victims of Thai Airways flight no 311 crashed in Kathmandu in July 1992. Along with Kakani is famous for strawberry farm, and Rainbow Trout Fish farms.
This short hike of some 10 kilometers takes about 4-5 hours of hiking time. It is about 1.30 hrs drive to Kakani which is only 12 Km from Kathmandu surprisingly. We come to your Hotel/place of residence to pick you up for a drive to Kakani and commence hike from here to Suryachaur and then to Gurju Bhanjyang from where you drive back to Kathmandu.

Breakfast at your Hotel. And, be ready to embark for incredible day hike tour to Kakani-Suryachaur-Gurju Bhanjyang.
Our Guide will pick you up at the Hotel/or place where you stay (Extra charge may occur if pick up point is out of range of our common service). And, drive to Kakani that takes around an hour and half.
Begin hiking from Kakani after short tour around. Trek through forest, Kakani village, then in a deep forest. Enjoy green landscapes, country-life, hills, fresh air and a nature walk.
It takes approximately 3-4 hours to Suryachaur.
Suryachaur (1,925 m/ 6,315 ft), the highlight view point of the hike is heavenly place for mountain lovers, from where breathtaking panoramas of the Himalayan peaks/ranges including Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Gaurishankar, Dorje Lakpa, Shishapangma – all seven thousanders – are seen closely. Exciting features of this day hike are walking in the forest, attractive terraced farm, and rural lifestyle.
Enjoy the view of the Majestic Himalayas, and green valley. You will have pack lunch for the day that our Guide will have for you.
Descend to Gurju Bhyanjyang which is through the forest.
Drive back to your Hotel/residence. Our guide will drop you at your Hotel or place of your residence.
